PRE & POSTANTAL NUTRITION
Nutrition is key for a healthy and successful pregnancy. Food nourishes our body and helps our cells make energy. Food also plays a critical role in the physical and mental development of your baby as well as in your (mom’s) overall wellbeing pre and post conception.
This service is designed to provide you with long-term nutrition and health coaching support to create an optimal environment for the healthy development of your baby and to help your body feel strong and nourished through the pregnancy as well as post birth.
We will start by preparing your body for pregnancy (ideally 3 to 6 months prior to conception) by addressing individual health challenges and nutritional needs. Diet and proper supplementation during this period as well as immediately post conception are key.
Once you become pregnant, we will meet once per month in person or via zoom (virtual meeting). During our live coaching sessions you will receive guidance and support with following:
Critical nutrient needs throughout each semester of pregnancy as well as post birth, which is just as important especially if you choose to breastfeed your little one.
Food cravings, hormonal changes, and ways to stay healthy and fit throughout your pregnancy and after.
Breast vs. bottle feeding: how to decide what is best for you and your little one.
Nutrition education for nursing moms (if applicable).
Books, materials, and nutrient-dense meal recipes and menu plans suited for pregnant and nursing women.
DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is available and I frequently use it in my practice to assess overall endocrine function and hormone metabolism.
